VOLUNTEERS in TTCU

View Page

These upcoming projects can use volunteer help in 2024 and beyond. Consider your time towards any of these events.

  • Kids Day is a beloved event for TTCU. Volunteers work with grill cooking, garbage retrieval, building temporary structures for kids fishing to mention a few.
  • TTCU will sponsor this. “Trout in the Classroom” is coming to Laurel Valley Elementary School 4th grade class.
  • A new program, TTCU will begin monitoring water quality within Tubmill and Shannons Watersheds. Stream water testing and insect proliferation is what we are looking to improve. Our stream biologist Greg Schaetzle will be guiding us.
  • TTCU has been doing stream habitat improvement annually for 23 years, and we have become good at it. The process is not physically demanding like it used to be, but it is fun!
  • Riparian tree planting. TTCU includes in every stream improvement project, planting native to Pennsylvania shrubs & trees during October – November.
  • Fundraising support is always sought after. TTCU will always need people who can sell fundraiser tickets. This is crucial, and very much needed.
